The M8 Method
M1/8
Pre-Design Strategy
Consideration of product design in order to support the packaging parameters from the start. On a preliminary inspection of the dimensions of the product, it is possible to identify how minor changes will affect and benefit the packaging, the raw materials and the logistics of the delivery, at this stage it is possible to avoid limitations that will need to be taken into account in the packaging in favor of an efficient, economical and green process. Small adjustments in product size can significantly affect the amount of raw material needed for packaging. Early planning helps in choosing the most economical and sustainable materials.
What will you receive from us at this stage?
- Regular discussions between product designers and logistics team to coordinate design specifications and packaging requirements.
- Using CAD software to create and illustrate packaging concepts. Tools like SolidWorks or Adobe Illustrator can help refine dimensions and packaging materials.
M2/8
Establishing a Strong Brand Presence
To ensure that the packaging design reflects the brand’s identity and values, making the product stand out in the market. Effective visual and textual communication enhances brand recognition and targets predefined audiences. Communicating the product’s value and crafting messages that highlight its unique advantages, thereby influencing the user’s perception and building trust.
What will you receive from us at this stage?
- Graphic Design Expertise – Creating visual elements, logos, color schemes, and typography.
- Marketing and Copywriting – Compelling and informative messages that align with the brand and speak to the target audience.
- Market Research and Insights – Conducting research to understand the needs of medical equipment operators, guiding branding and messaging development efficiently.
M3/8
Packaging engineering
We focus on creating a package structure and layout that protects the product and ensures a user-friendly experience, such as easy removal and ergonomic handling. The package will feature an intuitive opening mechanism and secure arrangement of products within the box. We also design internal platforms that protect the product and contain both the product and materials that maintain sterility until use. Additionally, we ensure efficient shelf storage and optimize transportation costs and efficiency.
What will you receive from us at this stage?
- Package Layout Design – Considering ergonomic factors and accessibility features to ensure an elegant appearance, ease of opening, and a user-friendly experience, while protecting the product.
- 2. Material Selection – Choosing various packaging materials that meet the durability requirements of the product and its usage, considering weight and material properties to provide optimal protection.
M4/8
validation and Drop testing
Our team is familiar with all validation processes and sterilization methods. We construct a white “blank” model using the final materials selected for the package to test strength and validate its suitability for various sterilization processes (such as ethylene oxide and gamma radiation), ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. We conduct a documented and filmed experiment to validate the packaging’s effectiveness in maintaining sterility and product integrity throughout its lifecycle. Additionally, we provide a lab report detailing the most efficient sterilization stages.
What will you receive from us at this stage?
- Lab Testing – Collaboration with specialized labs to assess the packaging’s response to different sterilization methods. This includes evaluating material integrity and performance under sterilization conditions.
- Supplier Coordination – Working with suppliers to order and manufacture sterilization-specific packaging components, including specifying material requirements that withstand the selected sterilization process. We also prepare platforms with different materials and adapt them to the product and patch for comprehensive validation testing.
M5/8
Prototype Phase – Short-Run Production
We produce a limited quantity of packaging, allowing for a practical assessment of both the packaging design and the product itself. This phase is ideal for initial product production before large-scale manufacturing, as well as for exhibitions, presentations, product promotions, and lectures. It provides an opportunity to further evaluate the packaging and product in real-world conditions, ensuring everything functions as expected.
What will you receive from us at this stage?
- Digital Packaging Production – Utilizing plotter work in a cleanroom environment, assembling all components to ensure a polished finish.
- Product Preparation – Coordinating with the lab to produce the packaging based on validation results, aligned with the required quantities.
- Client Training – Guiding your team on cleanroom practices and ensuring the setup of relevant stands and templates for efficient assembly.
M6/8
Production Readiness
Our process ensures that the production of packaging is thoroughly managed, from supplier oversight to quality control, ensuring product integrity throughout. We handle special manufacturing requirements, such as sterilization needs or custom packaging features, and streamline coordination among all suppliers involved to keep timelines on track.
What will you receive from us at this stage?
- Supplier Selection and Oversight: We carefully select printing suppliers and ensure they meet quality standards, assessing their capabilities and adherence to specifications. Our team supervises raw material testing and oversees the production process directly at the manufacturing facility.
- Technical Specifications and Procurement: We manage the procurement of all necessary materials, including technical specifications for every phase, such as foam inserts, handles, vacuum molds, and sterilization-compatible inner trays.
- Workflow and Supply Chain Coordination: We design a workflow that connects all suppliers, ensuring a seamless production process. If required, we also develop carriers or cages for sterilization machinery to meet specific production demands.
M7/8
Indoor Setup and Training
We provide comprehensive guidance and support to ensure a seamless and efficient implementation of packaging processes and equipment. Our team will train all personnel involved in packaging operations, ensuring they are familiar with the procedures and best practices needed for smooth execution.
What will you receive from us at this stage?
- Detailed Work Plan: A comprehensive roadmap outlining each step of the setup process, including timelines, milestones, and resource requirements.
- Training Programs and Materials: Development of instructional content for staff, including training videos, hands-on workshops, and written guides to ensure consistent knowledge transfer.
- Cleanroom Setup (if required): Assistance in establishing cleanroom environments or adapting existing spaces to meet the necessary cleanliness standards required for packaging operations.
M8/8
Master Packaging and Display
In this final phase, we focus on creating master packaging for storage and transportation, along with display units that enhance product visibility across multiple environments. These displays are designed to present the product effectively in retail locations, clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare settings, ensuring convenience in storage, distribution, and presentation.
What will you receive from us at this stage?
- Design and Production of Master Packaging and Displays: This includes creating stands, display units, and signage that highlight the product’s features and branding. We manage both graphic design and the production of all display elements.
- Logistics Planning for Distribution: We oversee the distribution of displays and packaging materials, including shipment management and correct assembly and placement at target locations.
- Point-of-Sale and Storage Support: We provide strategies for effective product placement at points of sale and warehouses, along with setup training for the installation team to ensure smooth execution.
